Building an Epic 686 Fly Rod

The heart of this fiberglass 6 weight fly rod is an Epic 686 4-piece blank in amber color from Swift Fly Fishing, New Zealand. The grip is a fiberglass/carbon fiber one I fabricated in my own studio. In my opinion, the Unidirectional S-2 fiberglass material, superb tapers, butter smooth feel and stunning finish make the Epic glass series rod blanks the best on the planet. Want to really geek out?
